New 3D Printer Brings Full Color Artwork to Life

New 3D Printer Brings Full Color Artwork to Life | COOL 3DPRINTING | Scoop.it

Most 3D printers let you create colorful objects, provided that you're willing to print out multiple pieces and connect them to each other. Artists and designers craving a little more variety in their palettes may want to take a look at the ProDesk3D printer, which can print in full color like an inkjet.

The ProDesk3D comes courtesy of botObjects, a New York- and London-based company that aims to deliver a consumer printer that's both feature-rich and affordable

Baby's life saved with groundbreaking 3D printed device from U-M that restored his breathing

Bioresorbable splint used for first time ever at the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, successfully stopped life-threatening tracheobronchitis

University of Michigan researchers have used a 3D printer to create a custom-made, life-saving implant for a baby boy, they reported today in a letter in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The baby, Kaiba Gionfriddo, had a rare disorder in which one of the airways in his lungs collapsed when he exhaled. The problem caused him to stop breathing and turn blue when he was 6 weeks old.

Even with a mechanical ventilator, Kaiba stopped breathing virtually every day, requiring doctors to perform emergency resuscitations.

3D Printing At Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Clinic physicians and researchers use 3D printing technology to model parts of the human body. The models help physicians visualize a problem .

Forget documents, spreadsheets and photographs.

The 3-D printer at Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute can print a model of a human heart.

“You can think of it a lot like an inkjet printer at home, just with an added dimension,” says Ryan Klatte, a senior research engineer. But when Klatte explains exactly what the printer can do, it is clear this is not your average inkjet.

Full Colour 3D Printing Has Finally Arrived | 3D Print HQ

    Full Colour 3D Printing Has Finally Arrived | 3D Print HQ | COOL 3DPRINTING | Scoop.it

Full colour 3D printing is no longer a dream. It's finally arrived and here's some of the best multicolour 3D printing options available to you.

For quite a long time, lack of colour printing options has been a great limitation of 3D printing.

Most of the classical 3D printers were monochrome with only a few capable of printing coloured objects.

Even those that could print coloured models were pre designed to only print a particular range of colours.

Although 3D printing was still used to produce complex and breathtaking prototypes, the absence of colour denied most 3D fabricated objects life and veracity. But not any more.
