A Closer Look at 3D Printed Shapeways Objects

In this video I just wanted to share some of the 3D printed objects that I had acquired from Shapeways, the 3D printing company.

All of these objects were ordered through their website at www.shapeways.com and are of the Selective Laser Sintering method in which a laser fuses grains of plastic powder together.

The objects are interesting to look at and interesting to touch but aren't useful in any way except for one aspect, which is the main reason I acquired them. Seeing and touching these objects really helps to expand the imagination and stimulate new ideas for what this maturing 3D printing technology will enable.

They are creative aids and help to generate new ideas for other structures and objects that you might want to design, build, and create.

This is the most efficient motor I have ever designed.

I will be uploading the files and links onto my website in a couple weeks. You will also be able to get a low cost print done by a 3D printing company like Shapeways if you do not own a 3D printer.

I plan on also designing a 3D printed Joule Ringer plus Crystal Cell flashlight.

3D Printed Jewelry

3D Printed Jewelry | COOL 3DPRINTING | Scoop.it

Last week we had some fun making an array of cookie cutters on our 3D printer, and we learned a few lessons about sizing, and…cookie dough. :) This week we decided to explore the jewelry options that were out there.

We found lots of fun designs for earrings, necklaces, and even a few keychains, but by themselves they were too boring for our taste. So we gave them the Brit + Co. treatment.
